Crimes against Humanity

Are war crimes during the Iraq war being over look or less punished? Without stricter punishment will these crimes continue?
Personal Interest: War crimes have had a major affect on the war in Iraq, from Abu Ghraib to the men accused of raping
and killing a women and her family. I have wanted take a closer look to what life was like for a member that is serving during
one the most chaotic wars of our time.
Method: The methods of research that I used were the UW library card catalog, Google scholarly search and the database
Proquest for all of the scholarly journals. I also used proquest for most of the articles that had just been printed that
have had a major impact on my topic.

Findings:
1.Military personnel during the Vietnam War were also let off with minimal punishment for crimes of war in certain cases.
2.Men that committed the crime would do this out in the open without regards to the law.
3.Many of the officer's consequence were minimal punishment.
4.Men that serve honorably get over look by the crimes that others commit.
5.Most of the officers were not aware of their troops behaviors.
